Progressive States Announces Members of Task Forces
Task Forces Will Help Coordinate Resources and Assistance
Helena, MT ”“ The Progressive States Network today announced a number of organizations that will be represented on their task forces. The purpose of the task forces will be to coordinate Progressive States work with existing activities in these areas, while creating a structure for incorporating the particular expertise of different organizations and experts.
The task forces will be comprised of some of America’s leading non-partisan experts on a range of policy questions. The task forces will be organized around core issue areas:
- Balancing Work and Family
- Fair and Clean Elections
- Health Care for All
- Smart Growth and Clean Jobs
- Tax and Budget Reform
- Wage Standards and Workplace Freedom
Among the organizations represented on the task forces: ACORN, AFSCME, Americans for Health Care, Apollo Alliance, Center for American Progress, Center for Policy Alternatives, COWS, Families USA, Free Press, JR Commons Center, Labor Project on Working Families, Mobility Agenda- Center for Community Change, Moms Rising, Multi-State Working Families Consortium, National Caucus of Environmental Legislators, National Employment Law Project, National Partnership for Women & Families, Public Campaign, SEIU, Sierra Club, Skyline Public Works, Smart Growth America, UC-Berkeley Center for Labor Research, and the Vote by Mail Project.
The Progressive States Network was founded in 2005 to drive public policy debates and change the political landscape in the United States by focusing on attainable and progressive state level actions. It recently changed its name from the Progressive Legislative Action Network (PLAN).
