1,000+ Legislators Sign Historic Climate Change Letter

As of today, 1,198 state legislators from 49 states have signed a letter to U.S. President Barack Obama and the U.S. Congress in support of clean energy legislation that strengthens national security, promotes clean energy technologies and sustainable jobs, and addresses the impacts of climate change.

With the support of the Progressive States Network, 12 members of CLEAN (Coalition of Legislators for Energy Action Now) will present the sign-on letter to the White House and U.S. Senators John Kerry (MA) and Lindsey Graham (SC) on January 26th as part of 2010 Clean Energy, Jobs and Security Forum in Washington, D.C. Bipartisan legislators leading the CLEAN effort have gathered over 1,000 signatures on the letter, and many have introduced resolutions in their legislatures urging the federal government to take action on comprehensive clean energy jobs and climate legislation.
