Dozens Protest Bill Young Over Handouts to Corporate Donors

In yet another event demonstrating the growing outrage among
Americans who aren’t super-rich, nearly 40 Pinellas County 99%ers protested Wednesday
outside the Downtown St. Pete office of one of the nation’s top defense
contractors and corporate welfare recipients. The divers group of protestors
criticized Republican Representative CW “Bill” Young, the local congressman who
makes sure corporations and the 1% receive a huge share of federal tax dollars.

FCAN Opens New Offices

FCAN opened an office in St. Petersburg at 233 3rd St N, headed by Kelly Benjamin.  We have 4 organizers plus Kelly and Political Logistics Coordinator Kate Bradshaw working in the office.  The goal is to talk to constituents about the inequality in America today, often expressed as the 99% vs the 1%.  Find out more about FCAN St Pete on the blog or Facebook page.

Who has the money, and who pays taxes?

We’re constantly hearing that “50% of Americans don’t pay any income tax.”  You just know that it isn’t true, and you know that everyone pays sales taxes and most everyone has payroll taxes deducted. But still, it sticks there.
