Binghamton: Education Reform Hearing Press Conference and Public Hearing

Governor Cuomo has formed an education reform commission that will help determine the future of our state’s public schools. The commission is holding a hearing and we need to make sure that we chime in and make our voices heard.

Insurance Refunds Arriving Thanks to ACA

Today, thanks to the Affordable Care Act, as of today, big insurance companies will be refunding individuals and businesses in New York State $86.5 million. The ACA includes a provision that requires insurers to spend 85% of large-group premiums and 80% of small-group and individual premiums on clinical services and quality improvement. If they don’t spend enough on care, the insurer must refund the difference.
That $86.5 million will be divided up like this:
